Whoever came up with the idea of buffets is a genius. Mad genius. I mean, the concept of paying a fixed price and just having everything you can eat in one go is a win-win situation for both the restaurant & us, the customers. Restaurants get more customers & customers get to save money. This is especially true for Malaysians since we are so well-known for our eating pastime. So all-you-can-eat buffet was a message sent from heaven when it first arrived here (aside from mamak stalls of course). So here, we have compiled a list of the Best Halal Buffet in town. Note the word ‘halal’ there, people(it means there will be no swine-y business here)!
#1 Lemon Garden Cafe

If you’re looking for a vast international selection of buffet range complete with Japanese sashimi and Italian pizza, then this is the place to head to. Lemon Garden Café has garnered a very reputable status in Kuala Lumpur for serving some of the best buffets for the past 10 years. Even the ice cream selection seems to be endless but of course, there has always got to be a niche area for a buffet and Lemon Garden’s is its seafood buffet on Saturdays and Thursdays. It is refreshing to be served fresh seafood instead of just supermarket crabs and oysters. But not forgetting, their dessert bar, which is equally wonderful, serving their homemade ice cream and (gasp!) a chocolate and white chocolate fountain. Do you really need more reason to not go here?
#2 Durian Buffet SS2

Now now… I know what you’re thinking, why is there a durian stall listed here? Because, well, there is no such thing as a set rule when it comes to branding a buffet spread. The only condition is that it must be an all-you-can-eat outlet and the durian stalls at SS2 are definitely an all-you-can-eat joint! If you’re a PJ frequent visitor like me, then, I bet you might have dropped by at this place to fill your tummy with happiness but if you have not, then please go there tonight. Malaysians, rejoice, durian heaven is here and if you’re craving some during the non-season period, you know where to stop over after this. The king of all fruit awaits your arrival!
#3 Secret of Louisiana

Secret of Louisiana claims it serves the best Cajun cuisine and promotes its lakeside location pretty heavily on its website. The restaurant is quite an attraction amidst the quiet Plaza Kelana Jaya area, which proves how having a picturesque location is a goldmine for the food industry nowadays. The talked about buffet here only serves pasta and is pork-free. From only RM 18++ per person, the price is equivalent as to what we may get for a single plate of pasta at other restaurants, so of course the value for money is there. Aside from that, the tables on the patio provide an excellent view of the lake, you’d feel as if you’re in New Orleans with the jazz music playing in the background.
#4 The Khan Mongolian Restaurant Halal Buffet BBQ Steamboat

The name may be long and hard to remember, but they are a pretty huge establishment that offers a wide variety of steamboat goodies. From seafood items such as fish, crabs, prawns, clams, squid, jellyfish, and many more, The Khan Mongolian Restaurant surely is a place for all seafood lovers. Additionally, they also offer a good selection of marinated meat, frozen products, and vegetables. To compliment, 4 types of broths are available; chicken, spicy, super spicy, and tom yam. Last but not least, an array of simple desserts and fruits are also offered.
#5 Meisan Szechuan Restaurant

For a place with the word 'Szechuan' in it, one would assume that they are famed for spicy food. However, they are really popular for their Dim Sum, which is a pleasant surprise. Situated in the Quality Hotel, KL, Meisan Szechuan Restaurant offers Dim Sum buffet daily from 9 am - 3 pm, offering all of their specialties with no holds barred. Simply pick what you enjoy most and feast away, the most important thing is that you do not waste what they have to offer.
#6 Restoran Rebung

Rebung offers authentic Malay cuisine in its buffet, so no sort of thing like ham or cute little croissants here. Instead, you will get to have some fiery asam pedas and nasi kerabu. Co-owned by renowned chef, Chef Ismail and Malaysia’s first astronaut, Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar, Rebung was bound to be a sure-fire hit when it first opened. Years onward, the restaurant is still flourishing and blooming on its own, collecting a pool of new fans in Bangsar and out of it alike. The main buffet line will always be the obligatory white rice and nasi hujan panas, followed by the compulsory pucuk paku and crispy, freshly made beans. Of course, since Chef Ismail hails from good ‘ol Rembau, masak lemak is a definite must-try on the list. The side dishes were as equally enticing. But if you’re feeling full from your previous meal, then there’s always the rojak buah, sago gula Melaka, and banana fritters to keep your mouth busy. Otherwise, make sure your stomach is empty before coming here. The buffet here can be described as traditional, fresh, and very homely. There was a table of Nogori people when I went there before, so if they love it, what’s the possibility that you won’t love it?
#7 Tai Zi Heen

Sharing may be nice but it isn't always necessary. At Tai Zi Heen, one does not have to share for their Dim Sum buffet is absolutely fantastic. A huge variety of Dim Sum to choose from, ranging from dumplings to pau and fried radish cake to chicken feet, almost everything you seek can be found here. Not only are they Halal certified, but the quality of each of their Dim Sum is commendable, and everything is done fresh in the morning. So if you're looking for a little more luxurious Dim Sum, do visit Tai Zi Heen.
#8 Makan Kitchen @DoubleTree by Hilton KL

Indulge in an authentic Malaysian dining experience at the award-winning restaurant, Makan Kitchen in the DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur hotel. Live interactive show kitchens showcase the enormous diversity of Malaysian cuisine and you will experience the journey from the raw ingredients to the pan and plate.
#9 The Ganga Cafe

The Ganga Cafe is a humble cafe that offers authentic Indian cuisine at an incredibly affordable price. Some of their signature dishes include the Chana Bhatura (a form of chapati), Aloo Tikki (potato cake), Pav Bhaji Set (burger), and Ayurvedic Chapati. More importantly, the buffet is only available every Sunday during lunch, where plenty of what they have on their a la carte menu will be available. Oh, it's also really cheap costing only RM19.90 per pax. So remember to come hungry and swoop as much as you can! Lovely food at an affordable price, because why not?
